Civic Literacy Report

Here is a civic literacy quiz from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute to determine how knowledgeable you are about Social Studies in this country. Remember "Social Studies" means the collection of social sciences, such as law, history, sociology, economics, etc., that everyone should have learned in various high school and college classes. (lawl, yeah right).

"The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%."

The worst scoring group was the self-identified "public officials" group, which consisted of people who have, at one time or another, held an elected position.

I scored a 97%, which means only one question wrong, number 7:

7)
What was the source of the following phrase: “Government of the people, by the people, for the people”?

Oops, darn, one wrong. I actually kicked myself in the butt for getting it wrong.

Here's where they explain the findings of the quiz.
